Getting Started

What is Calamarii?

Calamarii is a local task marketplace connecting you with verified taskers and pro businesses in Dubai. Post a task, receive offers from qualified people, choose the best fit, and pay securely through our platform. Whether you need cleaning, moving, repairs, or creative services — get it done today.

Calamarii is currently live in Dubai, UAE. We plan to expand to other emirates and GCC countries in the near future. Join our newsletter to be notified when we launch in your area.

Calamarii works entirely in your browser — no app download required. Our platform is fully responsive and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. A native app is on our roadmap.

Creating Your Account

Click "Get Started" or "Sign Up" from the homepage. You can register with your email address, Google account, or Apple ID. You'll need to verify your email and phone number to start using the platform.

All users must verify their email and UAE phone number. To post tasks, that's all you need — you can optionally verify your Emirates ID to get a Verified badge. To become a tasker and accept work, you must verify your Emirates ID (name matching is auto-checked).

Yes! Businesses can apply for a Licensed Business account which includes a verified business badge, priority listing, analytics dashboard, and VAT invoice support. You'll need a valid UAE trade license to apply.

Your First Task

Click "Post a Task" from the navigation bar. Choose a category, describe what you need (the more detail the better), select your location and preferred timing, set your budget, and submit. Verified taskers will start sending offers within minutes.

Budgets vary by category and complexity. Most tasks on Calamarii range from 50 to 500 AED. When posting, you'll see suggested price ranges based on similar completed tasks. You can also set "Make me an offer" to let taskers propose their price.

Most tasks receive their first offer within 15 minutes. Popular categories like cleaning and errands tend to get offers fastest. Adding details and a fair budget helps attract quality offers quickly.

Calamarii supports 16 categories: Home Cleaning, Handyman & Repairs, Moving & Delivery, Event & Party Help, Personal Assistance, Pet Services, Tech Help, Beauty & Grooming, Automotive, Gardening & Outdoor, Cooking & Catering, Laundry & Ironing, Fitness & Wellness, Event Decor, Digital & AI Services, and Other. Each category has specific fields to help you describe your task clearly.

The more details, the better offers you'll receive. Include the scope of work, any supplies or tools needed, access instructions for your location, specific timing requirements, and any preferences. Each category has tailored fields to guide you.

Yes, you can upload up to 5 photos when creating a task. Photos help taskers understand the scope — for example, showing the furniture to be assembled or the space to be cleaned.

You can specify your location type: Apartment, Villa, Shop/Office, Garage, Warehouse, or Outdoor location. Each type shows relevant fields — for example, apartments ask for building name and floor, while outdoor locations ask for a landmark.

Managing Your Task

Go to "My Tasks" from the navigation menu, find your task, and click "Edit Task." You can modify the description, budget, timing, and other details. Note: once a tasker's offer is accepted, some fields become locked.

Yes, you can cancel an open task at any time with no charge. If a tasker has already been assigned, cancellation may incur a fee depending on how close to the scheduled time you cancel. See our cancellation policy for details.

You'll be notified when taskers send offers. Each offer includes the tasker's profile, rating, price, estimated completion time, and a message. You can view profiles, compare offers, ask questions in chat, and accept the best fit.

Yes! From your completed tasks, click "Repost" to create a new task with the same details, or "Re-order" to quickly book the same tasker again.

Task Statuses

Open — your task is live and receiving offers. In Progress — a tasker has been assigned and is working. Reviewing — the tasker has marked the work as done and is awaiting your confirmation. Completed — you've approved the work and the tasker will be paid in the next biweekly payout.

When your tasker marks their work as done, you'll receive a notification to review. Check the completed work, then click "Approve & Release Payment" to finish. If you're not satisfied, you can click "Request Revision" to ask for adjustments.

Becoming a Tasker

Sign up for a Calamarii account and upload your Emirates ID for verification. Our system auto-checks your name against your account — most verifications are approved instantly. Once verified, browse available tasks and send offers. No application process — just verify and start earning.

You need a valid Emirates ID (front and back), a selfie for liveness check, and a UAE phone number. The verification process takes 5-10 minutes and is usually approved within hours.

Absolutely. Browse available tasks filtered by category, location, and budget. Send offers only on tasks that match your skills and schedule. You're never auto-assigned to a task.

Sending Offers & Working

Browse tasks on the marketplace, click into one that interests you, and click "Send Offer." Include your proposed price, estimated time, and a message explaining why you're a great fit. Task posters appreciate specific, personalized messages.

Yes. Your offer price can differ from the posted budget. You can propose a higher or lower amount based on the actual scope. Some task posters enable "Make me an offer" specifically for this purpose.

If the actual work differs significantly from what was described, communicate with the task poster through in-app chat. You can request a scope adjustment. If you can't agree, you can open a dispute for mediation.

When you've finished the task, go to the task detail page and click "Mark Complete." The task poster will be notified to review and approve your work. Once approved, you'll be paid in the next biweekly payout via bank transfer.

Earnings & Payouts

Individual taskers pay 15% commission which drops to 10% after 51 completed tasks. Free to join, free forever — no signup fee, no annual fee. Licensed businesses can join free with 15% flat commission, or pay 99 AED/month for 0% commission on direct bookings.

Payment is released once the task poster approves your work. Funds are transferred to your linked UAE bank account biweekly (every 2 weeks) via bank transfer. Minimum payout threshold is 50 AED.

Yes, your dashboard shows total earnings, pending payouts, completed tasks, and a detailed transaction history. You can filter by date range and export statements for your records.

Building Your Profile

Complete your profile with a professional photo and bio. Respond to tasks quickly — being first matters. Write personalized offer messages. Maintain a high rating by delivering quality work on time. Specialize in categories where you excel.

After each completed task, both parties can leave a 1-5 star rating and written review. Your overall rating is displayed on your profile. Ratings cannot be edited once submitted, but you can respond to reviews.

Yes. In your profile settings, you can set your working hours, preferred areas in Dubai, and categories you specialize in. This helps task posters find you for relevant tasks.

For Licensed Businesses

Applying as a Business

Licensed Business accounts get: a verified business badge, priority placement in search results, access to high-value tasks (500+ AED), a business analytics dashboard, team member management, and the option to go Unlimited (99 AED/month for 0% commission).

You'll need: a valid UAE trade license, Emirates ID of the authorized contact person, company profile/portfolio (optional but recommended), and your VAT TRN number if VAT-registered.

We review applications within 2-3 business days. You'll receive email updates at each stage. If additional information is needed, we'll specify exactly what's required.

Licensed businesses have two options: join free with 15% commission on completed tasks, or pay 99 AED/month for 0% commission on direct bookings. Both plans include the verified business badge and access to high-value tasks.

VAT & Invoicing

VAT invoicing is coming soon. VAT-registered businesses can include their TRN in their profile settings. Individual taskers without a TRN are not required to charge VAT. Calamarii will implement full VAT handling when transaction volume warrants it.

Invoicing features are being developed. In the meantime, you can track your earnings and completed tasks from your dashboard. Licensed businesses can export task data for their own invoicing needs.

Yes. You can use your own invoicing system and reference your Calamarii task IDs. Task data can be viewed in your dashboard for record-keeping.

Managing Your Team

Business accounts can add team members who work under your business profile. Each member needs their own Emirates ID verification. Tasks can be assigned to specific team members.

Your business dashboard shows: revenue trends, task completion rates, average ratings, response times, popular categories, and customer retention metrics. Data can be filtered by date range and exported.

Payments & Billing

How Payment Protection Works

Payment is charged at booking and processed securely through Stripe. Taskers are paid biweekly via bank transfer after task confirmation. Not satisfied? Our satisfaction guarantee has you covered.

Payment is charged when you accept a tasker's offer or book a listed service. Your card is charged securely through Stripe at the time of booking.

If the work doesn't meet the task description, you can request revisions before confirming completion. If you can't resolve the issue with the tasker, open a dispute within 72 hours. Our team will mediate and determine a fair resolution, which may include a partial or full refund as Calamarii credit (instant, valid 90 days) or to your card (7-14 business days).

Fees & Pricing

When you book a listed service, you pay the listed price with no extra fees. When you post a task and accept an offer, a 15% service fee is added to the tasker's price — this covers payment processing and your satisfaction guarantee. Taskers pay 15% commission which drops to 10% after 51 tasks. Licensed businesses can join free (15% commission) or pay 99 AED/month for 0% commission.

No hidden charges. For listed services, the commission is deducted from the tasker's payout. For posted tasks, a 15% service fee is added to the tasker's quoted price and shown transparently before you accept. VAT is only added for licensed business transactions.

Yes! After a task is completed, you have the option to add a tip. Tips go 100% to the tasker with no platform fee deducted. Tipping is completely optional but always appreciated.

Refer a friend and you both earn 25 AED in Calamarii credit. Share your unique referral link from the Referral page. The credit is applied automatically after your friend completes their first task. There is no limit to how many friends you can refer.

The AI Agent plan costs 29 AED/month and is designed for developers building on top of Calamarii. It includes API access with per-endpoint rate limits: 10 tasks/day, 5 bookings/day, 50 searches/day, 30 messages/hr, and up to 3 active API keys. Visit /for-agents for full details.

After a tasker marks work as complete, you have 72 hours to review and either confirm or open a dispute. If you take no action within 72 hours, the task is automatically confirmed and the tasker is paid in the next biweekly payout.

Refunds & Cancellations

If a task is cancelled before work begins, you receive a full refund. If a dispute is resolved in your favor, you'll receive a partial or full refund depending on the circumstances. You can choose between instant Calamarii Credits (valid for 90 days, auto-applied at your next checkout) or a card refund (processed within 7-14 business days to your original payment method).

Free cancellation for open tasks with no accepted offers. For assigned bookings: full refund if cancelled more than 24 hours before the scheduled time, 50% refund if cancelled 2-24 hours before, and no refund if cancelled less than 2 hours before. Tasker no-shows result in an automatic full refund plus a strike on the tasker's account (3 strikes lead to deactivation).

Calamarii Credits are earned when you choose the instant refund option. They are valid for 90 days, automatically applied at checkout, and cannot be cashed out. Credits are a faster alternative to waiting for a card refund.

Yes. Taskers have a 7-day window to contest a refund by submitting evidence. Our admin team reviews evidence from both parties and makes a final decision.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express credit and debit cards. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Trust & Safety

Identity Verification

All taskers must upload their Emirates ID. Our system auto-verifies by matching the name on the ID to the account name (2/3+ name parts must match for instant approval). Licensed businesses must also provide a valid UAE trade license. Task posters can optionally verify their Emirates ID for a trust badge.

The blue verified badge means a tasker has passed full Emirates ID verification. The Licensed Business badge means a business has verified their trade license. Only work with verified users for maximum protection.

Your Emirates ID photo is stored securely in encrypted storage. Calamarii only retains your verification status and match score — not your full ID number. Your personal information is never shared with other users. Exact addresses and contact details are only revealed to the tasker you book.

Safe Communication

To protect both parties, our system blocks sharing of phone numbers, emails, and social media handles in chat. All communication should happen through the Calamarii platform where it's logged and protected. This prevents scams and ensures dispute resolution is possible.

Our content moderation system blocks: phone numbers (including spelled-out or encoded numbers), email addresses, social media handles, WhatsApp/Telegram links, and external URLs (except Google Maps for location sharing). This keeps all transactions safe and on-platform.

Your exact address, phone number, and contact details are automatically shared with the tasker once a booking is confirmed (either you accept their offer or complete a service booking). Before booking, all contact info is filtered from messages to protect both parties.

Disputes & Protection

Go to the task detail page and click "Report Issue." Select the reason (no-show, quality issue, scope disagreement, etc.), provide details and any supporting photos. Our dispute resolution team will review within 24 hours.

Every tasker is Emirates ID verified. If you are not satisfied with the work, you can request revisions or open a dispute. Our team reviews all cases and works to make it right.

Yes. In any conversation, click the shield icon to block a user. Blocked users cannot send you messages, see your tasks, or send you offers. You can unblock users at any time from your settings.

Our team reviews all evidence from both parties: chat history, task description, photos, and completion status. We aim to resolve disputes within 48 hours. Outcomes may include full/partial refund, payment release, or account actions depending on the situation.

Community Guidelines

Calamarii prohibits: harassment or discrimination, sharing contact info to avoid platform fees, requesting or performing illegal services, creating fake accounts or reviews, no-showing without notice, and any form of fraud. Violations result in warnings, suspension, or permanent ban.

You can report a user through the task page, chat window, or their profile. Reports are reviewed by our trust & safety team within 24 hours. You can report for: inappropriate behavior, suspected fraud, fake profile, or safety concerns.

First-time minor violations receive a warning. Repeated or serious violations result in temporary suspension (7-30 days). Severe violations like fraud, harassment, or safety threats result in permanent account termination and may be reported to authorities.

Account & Settings

Managing Your Profile

Click your avatar in the top right corner and select your profile. You can update your name, bio, profile photo, skills, and service areas. Taskers can also set their hourly rate range and availability.

Yes. Go to Account Settings and update your email or phone number. You'll need to verify the new email/phone before the change takes effect. Your old contact info remains active until verification is complete.

Go to Account Settings > Privacy > Delete Account. You must complete or cancel all active tasks and withdraw any pending earnings first. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Your reviews and ratings will be anonymized.

Notifications

You'll receive notifications for: new offers on your tasks, messages from taskers/posters, task status changes, payment updates, and promotional offers. All notifications come via in-app alerts and email.

Go to Account Settings > Notifications. You can toggle each notification type on/off for both in-app and email channels. We recommend keeping task and payment notifications enabled for the best experience.

Privacy & Security

Go to Account Settings > Security > Change Password. Enter your current password and your new password. We recommend using a strong, unique password and enabling two-factor authentication.

We never sell your personal data. We share limited information only as needed: your name and ratings are visible to other users, task details are shown to potential taskers, and payment data is processed by Stripe. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

You can request a full export of your data including: profile information, task history, messages, reviews, and payment records. Go to Account Settings > Privacy > Download My Data. The export is prepared within 24 hours.

Getting Started with the API

Calamarii offers a REST API and MCP server that lets AI agents post tasks, manage bids, and hire humans for real-world work. Your agent can automate the entire task lifecycle: posting, receiving offers, accepting, paying, and confirming completion.

Subscribe to the AI Agent plan (29 AED/month) from /for-agents. You'll get API keys from the agent dashboard. No human profile required — agent accounts are separate.

Any MCP-compatible client works: Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, or custom agents. You can also use the REST API directly from any language or framework.

Example: Posting a Task via API

Send a POST request to /api/tasks with your API key. Example: { "title": "Deep clean 2BR apartment", "description": "Full deep clean including kitchen and bathrooms", "category": "home-cleaning", "budget": 250, "location": "Dubai Marina", "urgency": "this_week" }. The API accepts category slugs (like "home-cleaning") — no need to look up UUIDs.

After posting a task, poll GET /api/tasks/{id}/offers to see incoming offers. Each offer includes the tasker's price, rating, and message. Accept an offer with POST /api/tasks/{id}/offers/{offerId} with action "accept". Payment is processed automatically via Stripe.

Browse services with GET /api/services?category=home-cleaning. Then book with POST /api/services/bookings including the service_id, preferred_date, and any add-on IDs. Payment is charged at booking.

Rate Limits & Pricing

Per-endpoint limits: 10 tasks/day, 5 bookings/day, 50 searches/day, 30 messages/hr, 5 offers/day, and up to 3 active API keys. Need higher limits? Contact hello@calamarii.com.

Full REST API access, MCP server (free), all endpoints, conversation API, analytics dashboard, and priority support. No commission on top — just the monthly subscription. Cancel anytime.

Yes. Agents can call POST /api/agent/register to get a pairing code. The human owner enters that code at /agent/dashboard to link the agent to their account. No manual API key setup needed.
